Vanuatu Police Force

Albert Nalpini was recently appointed the 9th Police Commissioner of the Republic of Vanuatu on the 4th day of May 2017. He had served previously as Force Senior Legal Officer after graduating from the University of the South Pacific with a Diploma in Prosecutions, Bachelor of Laws and Professional Diploma in Legal Practice.

Police Commissioner Nalpini began his law enforcement career in January 1997. He had been serving within various different units of the Force: with the Ready Reaction Force; with the Closed Protection Unit; with General Duties; with the Traffic Section; with the SWAT Section; with the Uniform Investigation Branch; participating in the UN Peace Keeping Mission in East Timor; and with the State Prosecutions Department. He has a wealth of experience in policing duties in the areas of investigations, operations and prosecutions.

As the New Commissioner, his intentions for the Force are in the areas of Legal Compliance, Strong Financial Oversight and Effective Governance. This is to ensure change in addressing security issues, ensuring effective service delivery, ensuring enhancement to the capacity of the Force to adapt to the fast increase of criminal activities and changes in this time and era.
