Reducing speed and injury prevention

National Road safety week to be held from 8th to 14h of May 2017. Police Traffic Department in Vila has set two weeks awareness on Road Safety and how to use the roads safely.

During the awareness tok tok on road safety police will be visiting schools and community areas to give awareness to the police toktok on road safety on road users including drivers and public who uses the roads every day in Port Vila and Efate Rural.

Program is as follow

  • Monday 8th May 2017 at 2 pm Opening Parade starts at anchor in and finishes at Independence Park.
  • Tuesday 9th May
    • from 07 am to 12 pm Visitation to schools and awareness in Manples area
    • from 1 pm to 4 pm Fresh Wota and Seaside area 
  • Wednesday 10th May 2017
    • from 07 am to 12 pm Visitation to school and awareness Anamburu area.
    • from 1 pm to 4 pm Tagabe and Malapoa.
  • Thursday 11th May 2017 from 07 am to 4 pm Visitation to school and awareness Tanaliu, Ulei, Paunangisu and Takara.
  • Friday 12th May 2017 from 07 am to 12 pm Visitation to school and awareness in Central town.
  • Saturday 13th May 2017 from 07 am to 4 pm Awareness at Mele, Melemaat, Eton and Epau.

We are appealing to the leaders of the communities to let their people aware of this dates and timings so that people can gather together to hear the messages from the Police and other stake holders.
